The forecast for this weekend in Tahoe includes lots of snow and plenty of events! We’ve outlined a few of your options for après ski fun in the upcoming days at Northstar Resort.
On Thursday, December 11, Northstar’s annual Noel Nights continue. This week, the special activities include carolers, horse rides, pictures with Santa, complimentary holiday cupcake and cookie decorating from 5:00-8:00pm at Tavern 6330’, a jazz performance by the North Tahoe High School Band at 6:00pm, and ice skating performances from 7:15-7:45pm. Be sure to get here early to have time for all of the fun!
On Friday, December 12, Northstar is hosting the Brewmaster Dinner at Tavern 6330’ which is located near the Big Springs Gondola in The Village at Northstar. This month, the Brewmaster Dinner features Lagunitas Brewing Company. Seasonal specialty brews from Lagunitas will be paired alongside a five-course menu which will be created with fresh, seasonal produce and meats from local California sources.
On Friday and Saturday, December 12 and 13, kids will be sure to enjoy Ripperoo’s Rail Jam and Parade. From 3:45-4:00pm, start Saturday evening off right by jumping into the parade train of dancing and fun held at the Ice Skating Rink and led by Northstar’s Ski and Ride School Mascot- Riperoo! Following the parade from 4:00-6:00pm on the Village Overlook above the Ice Skating Rink, Northstar Ski and Ride School coaches will be available for instruction on the fundamentals of basic terrain park techniques, etiquette, and safety for kids aged 12 and under. This clinic will be held on both Friday and Saturday and is free for skiers and snowboarders with their own equipment.
On Saturday, December 13 the first annual Northern Lights Festival will take place. For this event, kids and families are invited to enjoy light-filled activities throughout the day and evening. Activities will include a torch light procession and snow cat light parade, glow-in-the-dark face painting, balloon twisting, games, and live music on the Village Stage. And, to close out the festival fun, be sure to join us in The Village at Northstar for a fireworks show at dusk!
Also on Saturday, December 13 is the Gingerbread Workshop at The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe. From 3:00-4:00pm families will enjoy building their own unique gingerbread houses alongside a Ritz-Carlton pastry chef. Holiday beverages will be included, and advance reservations are required.
