To help you celebrate this Independence Day weekend in Tahoe, we’ve made a list of our favorite 4th of July activities in North Lake Tahoe.

Events

Beerfest and Bluegrass Festival
7/3/15 – The Village at Northstar
From 3:00 – 7:00 pm, find your new favorite brew as you work your way through tastings from 32 featured breweries including Lagunitas, Lost Cost, Sierra Nevada and Deschutes. Kids’ activities will be offered as well, and live bluegrass music from the McCoy Tyler Band and Grant Farm is sure to inspire plenty of knee slappin’ and dancing. Tickets are $30 when purchased in advance, or $38 the day of.

Fireworks and Beach Party
7/3/15 – Kings Beach
Head to the Kings Beach State Recreation Area from  4:00 – 10:00 pm to partake in contests, free games, live music, and food and drink followed by a fireworks display at 9:30 pm.

Pancake Breakfast
7/4/15 – Truckee Fire Station, Donner Pass Road
Beginning at 7:00 am until 10:00 am is the 17th annual 4th of July pancake breakfast. Cost is $7 for adults and $5 for children – proceeds go to the Truckee Firefighters Charitable Fund.

4th of July Parade
7/4/15 – Historic Downtown Truckee
On Donner Pass Road through Historic Downtown Truckee, this 4th of July Parade is a Truckee tradition. Parade takes place from 10:00 – 11:00 am.

Bike Parade
7/4/15 – The Village at Northstar
From 12:00 – 3:00 pm a kids’ parade will be led by the Northstar Fire Department and California Highway Patrol. The young ones are invited to decorate their bikes, enjoy complimentary face painting and balloon twisting, and the Northstar Fire Department will be on-site with one of their engines for guests to explore. This event is free.

Beach Bash and Fireworks
7/4/15 – Tahoe City
Wheelbarrow races, contests, food, live music and fireworks. From 12:00 – 10:00 pm, experience the 70th annual 4th of July celebration at Commons Beach.

Tahoe Star Tour
7/4/15 – Dark Skies Cosmoarium at Northstar
From 8:15 – 10:30 pm, enjoy a guided journey through the cosmos by the president of the Northern Nevada Science Coalition. Telescopic viewing is offered through state-of-the-art computerized telescopes, alongside fire pits, heaters, blankets, hot chocolate, coffee and s’mores. This event is $35 for adults and $20 for children ages 12 and under.

Luxury Home Collection Tour 
7/5/15 – Northstar, Lahontan, Martis Camp & Gray’s Crossing
Join Tahoe’s leading Real Estate Team on Sunday, July 5th to view a stunning Collection of Luxury Homes. Select listings in the private communities of Mountainside at Northstar, Lahontan and Martis Camp will be available for guided tours, while a self-guided Open House from 12-5pm will be available in the exceptional community of Gray’s Crossing.
